The Pearson Edexcel GCSE Spanish speaking exam (1SP1, first assessed 2026) has three tasks: Task 1 — Read aloud, then answer two short unprepared questions; Task 2 — Role play in a transactional setting; Task 3 — Picture description and conversation, where you describe one image in your chosen thematic context, then continue into a follow-on conversation. The exam counts for 25% of your overall GCSE (50 marks), lasts 7–9 minutes at Foundation and 10–12 minutes at Higher, with 15 minutes of supervised preparation.
