45 questions to answer aloud

These are original ScoreMySpeech practice questions, not official exam questions or predictions. The nine groups are useful revision categories, not a claim that every board organises its specification in the same way.

Choose three questions. Think for a few seconds, then speak rather than writing full answers. A partner can select a question you have not prepared. “Foundation starter” and “Higher challenge” are practice support labels, not official allocations: pupils at either tier can try any question.

How to turn a short answer into a stronger answer

Short → developed → stronger. These examples show one possible answer, not a required script or a guaranteed mark. A longer answer helps only when it is relevant and understandable.

Short

Me gusta la historia.

Start with a direct opinion and the right verb.

Developed

Me gusta la historia porque me ayuda a entender el mundo.

Explain why this opinion matters to you.

Stronger

Me gusta la historia porque me ayuda a entender el mundo. La semana pasada estudiamos una ciudad antigua y me pareció fascinante. Me gustaría visitarla algún día.

Add a specific past experience and a connected future wish, without losing the original answer.

Now choose a different subject, change the reason and use a true detail from your own life. Do not memorise someone else’s whole answer.

Turn the list into speaking practice

  1. Say a direct answer to one question without reading notes.
  2. Repeat it with a reason or an example.
  3. Ask your partner for an unexpected follow-up and answer it straight away.
  4. Choose one verb or sound to improve, then repeat once.

Reading questions is useful. Answering them aloud is the part that prepares you for the speaking exam. This public page does not record or score you.
